Howard Dodd

Howard William Dodd, 46, of Fairmont, passed away Friday (April 5, 2013) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born in Monmouth, N.J., on Jan. 20, 1967, a son of Norma Lea Custer of Fairmont and the late Audrey William Dale Dodd.

Howard was a self-employed carpenter by trade. He was an active outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Karen (Wagner) Dodd of Fairmont; and three sons, Howard Dale Dodd, William Dale Dodd and Patrick Dale Dodd, all of Fairmont.

Also surviving are two brothers, Bobby Dodd and his wife Paulette of Fairmont and Jacob Custer of Huttonsville; one sister, Peachy White and her husband Harry of Fairmont; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tim Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
