— Rose Lynn Pavlich Tedrick, 100, of Parkersburg, completed her baptism Monday (April 8, 2013) at Eagle Pointe Health Center in Parkersburg.

Born Aug. 15, 1912, in Wilpen, Pa., Rose was the daughter of the late Michael and Maria Pavlic, Croatian immigrants, of Monongah. She attended Fairmont Business College.

On her birthday, Rose wed Robert Benton Tedrick I of Fairmont and was widowed Feb. 28, 1953. Both Rose and Bob worked for the Monongahela Power Co.

This hardy centenarian enjoyed four children, 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Her interests included cooking, books, yard sales, golf (Worthington Golf course) and her fondness for meeting people.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Sulo Osco; her beloved husband, Robert Benton Tedrick I; and her sons, 1st Lt. Robert Benton Tedrick II (Virginia) of Chattanooga, Tenn., Philip Brantner Tedrick and David Hamilton Tedrick of Parkersburg. Daughters-in-law Jacqueline Cross Tedrick and Roberta Cheatham Tedrick reside in Parkersburg.

Rose is survived by her youngest sister, Julia Osco Shaw, originally from the homestead in Monongah, and her two nieces, Alice Shaw and Dr. Ellen de Paredes, M.D. (Victor), now of Richmond, Va. Of her four children, her daughter, Laura Jane Tedrick Starr (William R.) of Louisville, Ky., survives.

Her 13 grandchildren include Stephen Engle Tedrick (Nichole) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Matthew Benton Tedrick (Ellen) of Tampa, Fla., Susan Lynn Tedrick Kalin (Richard) of Seattle, Wash., Sarah Marie Tedrick Brewer (Roger), Christopher Benton Starr (Cathy) of Jeffersonville, Ind., Jennifer Starr Tennant (Thomas) of Louisville, Ky., Timothy Stark Tedrick (Janet) of Warrenton, Va., Anne Tedrick Humphrey (Bobby) of Centreville, Va., Dr. Michael Tedrick, D.O., of Charleston, Jonathan Link Tedrick of St. Cloud, Minn., and Katherine Rose Tedrick of Parkesburg.

Rose’s 25 great-grandchildren include Andrew Ryan Tedrick, Bradley David Brown of Florida, Hillary Tedrick of Chattanooga, Tenn., Anastasia “Stacy” Tedrick, Constantine Benton Tedrick and Alexander Tedrick of Valrico, Fla., Elliott Kalin and Ethan Kalin of Bellevue, Wash., Peter Brewer and Carson Brewer of Los Alamos, N.M., Jennifer, Lynn, Ashley, Jamie and Angela Tedrick of Warrenton, Va., Jessica, Jacob, Allison and Meagan Tedrick of Centreville, Va., Michael Tedrick, D.O., of Charleston, Jonathan Tedrick of St. Cloud, Minn., Chancellor Joseph Starr of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Kurt, Julia, Rose and Ian Tennant of Louisville, Ky.

Also surviving are 10 nieces and nephews, including Suanne Tederick Houck Casseday (Ernest) of Cumberland, Md., Nancy Brown Owens of Springdale, Ark., Emma Jean Delovich (Frank) of Fairmont, Michael Delovich (Donna) of Baltimore, Md., Patricia Preolette Lechiara, RN, of Wilmington, N.C., Michael Preolitti (Irene) of Monongah, and Coralee Preolette Schrecengost (Robert) of North Carolina.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon today at First Presbyterian Church (Harris Room) at 1341 Juliana St., Parkersburg, followed by a celebration of life at noon in the church sanctuary officiated by the Rev. Michael Seely. Internment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
