Lois “Jean” Dean, 66, of Wilmington, N.C., passed away Saturday (Sept. 28, 2013) at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove.
She was born in Fairmont on Nov. 12, 1946. She is the daughter of the late Thelma and Dorsey Richard Vincent. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas; grandson, Terry Eugane Jr.; and her sister, Judith Preston.
Jean made Wilmington, N.C. her home in 1981. She worked in piano and organ sales for over 20 years at the former Andy Owings Music Center in the mall, then worked at the former McFadyen’s Music. Jean loved people, music and sales, which made her very successful in her career.
For the past 12 years, Jean had made Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove her home. The family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Care for their love and support while she was a resident.
Jean is survived by her son, Terry Dean and wife Debra of Leland, N.C.; daughter, Trisha Murrill and husband Brent of Wilmington, N.C.; former husband, Terry Dean of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandchildren, Alex, Skyler and Taylor Dean, and Stone and Spencer Murrill; great-grandson, Caden Dean; mother-in-law, Garnett Dean of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Marilyn Denniston and her husband Tom of Fairmont; brother-in-law, Rick Dean and his wife Doris of Manassas, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and longtime special friends, Gloria Cliff of Winnebow, N.C., and Carol Ihurg of Wilmington, N.C.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation, 1535 S. 41st St., Wilmington, NC 28403. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
