Katharine M. Piscitelli, 93, of Fairmont, died Monday (Oct. 14, 2013) at Fazio’s Elder Care in Monongah.
Katharine was born on March 1, 1920, in Fairmont, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Teti Marra.
She previously worked at Westinghouse Electric during World War II, and later at Hills Department Store. Katharine was a lifelong resident of Fairmont and a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and a former member of the church altar rosary society guild.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Janice Piscitelli of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Patricia Scott and granddaughter Amy Scott, both of Dale City, Va. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Robert Piscitelli, and sister-in-law, Angeline Ripoli, both of Fairmont. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patsy “Pat” Piscitelli, in 2006; a sister, Teresa Reese; and brothers Sam, Rick and Tony Marra.
Friends may call at Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont, today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Robert Perriello as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
A vigil service will be held this evening at 8:30 at the funeral home.
