Margaret Sabo, 91, of Dale City, Va., formerly of Rivesville, passed away Friday (Feb. 28, 2014).
Loving mother to George Sabo Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va., Irene Spiker (James R.) of Dale City, and Eleanor Turek (nee Sabo) of Maple Heights, Ohio; cherished grandmother to Fred Spiker (Tara) of Bristow, Va., and John E. Turek of Maple Heights, Ohio; and stepsister to siblings John J. Yambor of Brooklyn, Ohio, and Andrew F. Yambor of Brookpark, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by husband, George Sabo; parents, Gizella Yambor and Stephen Levay; brother, Frederick Levay; and granddaughter-in-law, Tracy Malone.
Margaret was a longtime resident of Fairmont before moving to Dale City, Va. She attended Mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fairmont. She dressed to the nines and loved bargain shopping. She liked gold fashion accessories and furnishings.
As “Gypsy Lady” she was a member of the CB Club. She loved her poodle dog and walked him daily until he went to the Rainbow Bridge. She was quite a housekeeper who cooked a wonderfully tasty noodle soup and canned her own homegrown vegetables. She was an expert quilter, as well as other handwork. She loved Cher, Colasessano's pizza, and Country Club Bakery pepperoni rolls and bread. She always loved a good cup of coffee.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with service to follow at 7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, Va., telephone 703-878-2273.
