James Carroll Weaver, 82, passed away peacefully Monday (Nov. 11, 2013) at his residence in Melbourne, Fla.
Jim was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Worthington, to the late Robert and Elsie Weaver.
He proudly served his country for four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He married his wife of 52 years, Glendine, in 1957, and they moved their family to Melbourne, Fla., in 1963.
As a teacher in Brevard County for 30 years, Jim touched many lives. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their numerous sports activities. In his later years, his favorite pastime was playing pool with his buddies at the Wickham Park Senior Center.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Glendine, who preceded him in death. He was a dedicated father to his children, Steve Weaver and his wife Tammy of Jacksonville, Fla., Diane Mohr of Palm Bay, Fla., Kathy Frank and her husband Larry of Ellisville, Miss., Jill Weaver of Melbourne, and Mike Weaver of Melbourne. He doted on his grandchildren, and each held a special place in his heart: Kristi Cope and her husband Tim and their children Dylan, Caleb, Isabella and Logan of Georgia, Mindy Frank, with whom he is reunited in heaven, Zachary Frank, Bekki Frank, Tyler Frank, Danny Frank, Derek Mohr, Erika Mohr, Kira Weaver, Kammie Weaver, Matthew Weaver, Caitlin Weaver, Jacob Weaver, Jerry Deal and Tim Deal.
Jim is also survived by his brother, Robert Weaver (Alma) of Maryland; and his sister, Martha Orwig (Bob) of Sanford, Fla.
Calling hours will be at Davis-Seawinds Funeral Home, Melbourne, from noon to 1 p.m. today, with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m.
