— Grace Frances Donham Knotts Winter, 87, of White Hall, passed away on Wednesday (May 22, 2013) at her residence.

God called her home for eternal life with a clap of thunder and surrounded by her family. She was born on Aug. 23, 1925 in Aurora, a daughter of the late Walter Samuel Donham and Virginia Merle Sell.

Mrs. Winter was a 1945 graduate of Aurora High School and enjoyed embroidery, quilting, word search puzzles and watching West Virginia University sports. She attended the Fountain of Life Christian Fellowship Church in White Hall. Mrs. Winter was a member of the Beverly CEOS.

Mrs. Winter is survived by her husband, Jerry Winter; a son, Bob Knotts and his wife Cheryl of Burlington; two daughters, Linda Bachman of White Hall, and Gloria Uphold and her husband Jeff of Oakland, Md.; two step-sons, Bruce Winter and his wife Cathy of Maine, and Craig Winter and his wife Lori of Maine; one step-daughter, Wendy Cutlip of White Hall; two brothers, Lawrence Donham of Stewartstown, Pa., and Harley Donham and his wife Regina of Grafton; two sisters, Mildred Teets and her husband Jake of Aurora, and Alma Snyder and her husband Jackie of Aurora; four grandchildren, Justin Bachman and his wife Ashley, Andrew Uphold and his wife Stephanie, Ben Uphold and his wife Andrea, and Jason Bachman; four great-grandchildren, Gage Bachman, Logan Bachman, Isabella Bachman and Claira Uphold; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Winter was preceded in death by her first husband, James Knotts.

The family would like to thank Hospice Care Corp. for their kindness, love and support. They would especially like to thank Staci, Crystal, Lisa and Marci.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 3 to 8 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 7 p.m. today. The casket will lie in state from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Aurora United Methodist Church in Aurora. The funeral service will be held at the Aurora United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. with Brian Cole officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Aurora.
