Anna Mladjenovich

Peacefully on Saturday (Aug. 17, 2013) Anna (Dzwonczyk) Mladjenovich passed into the gates of heaven to join her loved ones.

She was predeceased by her husband, John H. Mladjenovich Sr., in March 2006; her parents, Valent and Akilia Sokol; her brothers, Nicholas Dzwonczyk and Michael Dzwonczyk; and her sister, Florence Skiba.

She is survived by her son, John H. Mladjenovich Jr. and his wife JoAnne of Sykesville, Md.; her grandsons, John H. Mladjenovich III and James N. Woods; her granddaughters-in-law, Melisa Mladjenovich and Kristi Woods; and her special great-grandchildren, Samantha and John Casey Mladjenovich and Harper and Lilia Woods.

Also surviving are her sister, Helen Patterson, and a sister-in-law, Alice Dzwonczyk, and a multitude of beloved nieces and nephews and their spouses. She also leaves behind special friends, Jim and Margaret Willis, Betty and Bud Dumire, and Lucy Vandergrift, all of Fairmont.

Mrs. Mladjenovich was the owner and operator of Ann’s Beauty Shoppe in Meadowdale for many decades. She proudly held the second-longest beautician license in the state of West Virginia. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Friends may call at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., from 1-3 p.m. and from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Maryland Avenue with the Rev. Walter J. Jagela serving as the celebrant. The committal service will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be forwarded to Dove House Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157-5629, which provided her with compassionate and expert care.
