— Homer Junior Eddy, 80, of Levels Community, Colfax, died Thursday (August 22, 2013) in the Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Clarksburg.

He was born April 12, 1933, in Marion County, a son of the late Homer Arthur Eddy and Anna Madge Toothman Eddy. He is survived by his wife, Brenda C. Eddy of Levels Community, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Neva Lorenne Baughman Eddy on Aug. 14, 1984.

Mr. Eddy is survived by a son, Eric Wayne Eddy of Johnson City, Tenn.; a daughter, Roberta Davis of Port Orchard, Wash.; a brother, Robert Wayne Eddy of Rivesville; three sisters, Betty Morris of Rivesville, Mary Bryant of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Lelia Floyd and her husband Tom of Farmington; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a stepsister, Helen Funk and her husband Tom of Fairmont; a stepbrother, Richard Z. Upton of Washington; a stepdaughter, Jessica O’Hara and her husband Rick of Pittsboro, N.C.; a stepson, Jim Knight and his wife Mary of Sanford, N.C.; and five step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Thomas Upton.

Mr. Eddy was a retired maintenance electrician for the Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Toano, Va., with 31 years of service. He was Baptist by faith and served in the United States Army in the Korean War. Homer was a graduate of Rivesville High School and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 6 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Bill Toothman officiating. Military Funeral Honors will be conducted in the funeral home following the funeral service. A private committal service will be held for the family at a later time in the Memorial Park of Williamsburg, Va.
