Richard Grady Gotses, 67, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday (Oct. 6, 2013) at his residence, Fairmont Arbors.
He was born Jan. 30, 1946, in Fairmont, son of Dr. Paul Gotses of Fairmont and Julia Gotses of Fairmont.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by four children, Robert A. Gotses of Fairmont, Michael Gotses, Julieanne Gotses and Stephen Gotses, all of Wheeling; a sister, Mary Beveridge of Fairmont; a brother, John Gotses of Fairmont; his stepmother, Margaret Gotses of Fairmont; his wife, Mary Glasser Gotses of Wheeling; Carol Gotses of Fairmont, friend and mother of his first son; an aunt, Irene Cavrich of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Ellen Gotses of Fairmont; two nephews, Brian Gotses of Oil City, Pa., and John Paul Gotses of Fairmont, and their wives and children. He also leaves behind his friends at the Arbors and Denise.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gary Beveridge.
Richard was Catholic by faith and a graduate of St. Peter’s High School in 1964. He later graduated from Fairmont State College as an X-ray technician. He was employed by Fairmont General Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Ohio Valley Hospital in Wheeling, and Barnesville Hospital in Ohio.
Family and friends may meet at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont, at 9:30 a.m. today to proceed to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Watson, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Father Richard Ulam, O.S.B. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
