Gary Duane Wisman, 71, of Gladesville, passed away Wednesday (Oct. 23, 2013) at the farm surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Dec. 15, 1941, in Morgantown, the only son of the late Byron and Mildred Miller Wisman.
After working 30 years at the WVU Health Sciences Physical Plant, he retired early. He and his wife, Carolyn, spent the winters at their home in The Villages, Fla., where he enjoyed the warm weather and sun, while spending his days playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Malcolm Wisman; his six children, Barbara (Rick) McDonald, Cindy (Marvin) Teets, Debra (Kyle) Raven, Robert (Stephanie) Wisman, David (Bethany) Wisman and Jeffrey (Becky) Wisman; and 15 grandchildren, Courtney, Meghan, Joshua, Brandon, Rachel, Cameron, Chase, Jude, Parker, Byron, Jacob, Seth, Madison, Jessica and Reese.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his little “Fou” dog.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and again on Sunday from noon until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Chad Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
