Charles William “Bill” Bradshaw, 91, of Morgantown, formerly of Fairmont, passed away Friday (Nov. 15, 2013) at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
Charles was born May 6, 1922, in Filbert, Pa., son of the late R. Mervin Bradshaw and Elizabeth Betty Joliffe Bradshaw.
Charles was a machinist and sale representative for Bradshaw Industries Inc. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, served in the 13th Medical in France and England, and participated in the Normandy Beach invasion.
He was an avid horse lover and enjoyed trail riding.
Survivors include three children, a son William C. Bradshaw and wife Rhonda of Fairmont, a daughter Susan Savage and Don Savage of Morgantown, and daughter Margie Cheslock and husband Bryan of Morgantown; grandchildren, Scott Bradshaw of Fairmont and Rachel Bradshaw of Fairmont, Stacy Makar and husband Vijay of Atlanta, Ga., Matthew Shreve of Morgantown, Melissa Shreve of Salt Lake City, Utah, Bruce Cheslock and wife Kristina of Morgantown, Jonathan Cheslock of Morgantown and Alex Cheslock of Morgantown.
In addition to his wife, Margaret Lough Bradshaw, Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bradshaw, and a sister, Mary Jane Loughery.
Family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont, Monday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral service will be in the funeral home Tuesday at noon with Rev. John Riley officiating. Charles choose cremation as his disposition.
