Judith Ann Perkins, 66, of Grant Town, passed from this life early Thursday morning (Nov. 21, 2013) in her home, under hospice care after a long illness, and over a year-long battle with cancer.
She was born in Fairmont, on Nov. 7, 1947, a daughter of the late Pete Yeager and Dorothy Hawkinberry Jones.
Judy was a Christian by faith, and a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved fishing and enjoyed having a good time, especially with her family.
Mrs. Perkins is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Scott and Jeri Perkins of Grant Town; her daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Larry Tichnell of Rivesville; her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Tabatha and Derek McGloud; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Kimberly Jones, Robert and Bonnie Jones, and James and Amy Jones, all of Basnettville; five sisters and three brothers-in-law Janet Beverage of Basnettville, Brenda and Chooch Domico of Monongah, Kathy and Jim Hassinger of Cambridge, Ohio, Connie West of Basnettville, and Peggy and George Yelich of Fairmont.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Dennis Leroy Perkins, on Sept. 29, 2013.
Judy’s family would like to say a special “THANK YOU Hospice Care, for being there for us, especially Lisa,” and also to thank Dr. Eugene Menez and his staff.
Friends may call at the Frey Home For Funerals (Addition Chapel A), 320 Madison St., Fairmont, today from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. She had requested cremation as her method of final disposition, with no funeral service. Her committal service will take place in the Perkins Family Cemetery at a later date.
