Denzil Stout Sr.

Denzil E. Stout Sr., age 74, of Boulevard Ave., Fairmont, passed away Friday (Aug. 23, 2013) at the Fairmont General Hospital.

He was born Aug. 4, 1939, in Morgantown, a son of the late Pearlie Newton Stout and Agnes Naomi (Hawkins) Stout.

He is survived by one son, Denzil E. Stout Jr. and wife, Ann, of Thayer, Mo.; one granddaughter, Brianna Stout of Gulf Shores, Mo.; his first wife, Patricia J. Stout of Canton, Ohio; a special cousin, Joy Marshall and husband Wesley of Morgantown; also survived by numerous country and western music friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Patricia Ruth (Mitchell) Stout.

Denzil served in the U.S. Army from 1957-59. He was a member of several country and western organizations in the area and was Methodist by faith.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rex Musgrove officiating.

Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the V.F.W. Memorial City Post 3081, Taylor County Post 12 American Legion, and the D.A.V. Chapter 24, and the WV Army National Guard of Kingwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to your favorite country and western association.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
