Betty Cain

Elizabeth “Betty” Mae Cain, 86, of Metz, passed away Monday (May 6, 2013) at Fairmont General Hospital.

She was born Aug. 26, 1926, at Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Lloyd D. Wright and Goldie M. Rose Wright.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dale “Joann” Kuhn of Metz, and Mrs. Fred “Shirley” Farrell of Lorain, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Brian and Cindy Kuhn of Mannington, Shawn and Tamara Kuhn of Littleton, Glendon Kuhn of Metz, Renita Kuhn and significant other Mike Lee of Fairmont, Mike Farrell of Lorain, Ohio, Calvin Farrell of Lorain, Ohio, and Jennifer and Enar Ortiz of Lorain, Ohio; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathryn Wright of The Arbors in Fairmont; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jim and Paula Simonz of Metz.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James William Cain, who died Nov. 14, 2012; one son, James Ray Cain; one sister, Gladys Wright; and two brothers, Herbert and Edward Wright.

Betty was a Protestant by faith. She enjoyed her two dogs, Paulie and Muffin. She also enjoyed traveling the countryside.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, from 2-8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Coon officiating. Burial will follow at Pricetown Cemetery.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
