Dorothy “Dottie” Lenore (Pitman) Kocan, 93, of Sellersville, Pa., formerly of Cedar Grove, N.J., went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday (May 7, 2013) at Grand View Hospital.
She was the loving wife of the late Stephen John Kocan.
Dottie was born in Worthington, to the late Walter and Ina Pitman.
She graduated from Monongah High School. Dottie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening, word search puzzles and spending time with her family. Dottie loved walking her dog, Angelface, and loved kids.
She was a member of Calvary Church of Souderton.
Dottie is survived by a son, Stephen Kocan and wife Norma of Frederick, Md.; four grandchildren, Jared, Aubrey, Leslie and Rebecca; three great-grandchildren, Rocky, Titus and Joseph; a sister, Joan Blagg and husband Eugene “Buck” of Idamay; and a brother, Julian Pitman of Fairmont.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Deborah K. Englishman and Sheryl Lee Wilson; a brother, Virgil Pitman; and two sisters, Velma Hartley and Lexie Parks.
A visitation was held Friday at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, Pa.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Temple Assembly of God on Swisher Hill, with Pastor Tim Shuttlesworth officiating. The body will lie in state two hours prior to the service.
Services are entrusted to Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington.
Burial will take place at Parrish Cemetery in West Virginia.
