Ronald “Flitch” Shriver, 77, of Daybrook, passed away Sunday (June 16, 2013) at his residence.
He was born May 1, 1936, the son of the late Clifford and Hattie Moore Shriver.
Mr. Shriver served two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Fort Knox, Ky.
He was employed by Forest Construction Co. for 32 years and was a member of District No. 31, UMWA, local union 1697.
Flitch loved his shot guns and shooting matches. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Daybrook Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane Brewer Shriver; a daughter, Cheryl and husband Rich McCarty of Wadestown; a son, Mark and wife Sherry Shriver of Daybrook; four grandchildren, Lacey, Bethany and Tyler McCarty and Tony Shriver; and four great-grandchildren, Auric, Cherokee-Rose and Xander Shriver and Paige Harker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alberta Wise, and a brother, Bennie Shriver.
Friends may call at Daybrook Church of Christ in Daybrook from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held in the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Evangelist Robert Barcroft and Evangelist Aaron Snider officiating. Interment will follow in Daybrook Cemetery.
