Cynthia Summers

Cynthia Marie Summers, 32, of Littleton, died Tuesday (June 18, 2013) at her residence.

She was born Oct. 10, 1980, a daughter of Charles Derby of Littleton and Cynthia Robinson of St. Marys.

Mrs. Summers was a member of Long Valley Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Jess Ray Summers Jr.; two sons, Alex Derby and Carl Derby; one stepson, Jeremy Ray Summers; one daughter, Connie Derby; three brothers, Charles Derby Jr. of Huttonsville, Paul Derby of Littleton and Alan Derby of New Martinsville; two sisters, Becky Blake of New Martinsville and Charlotte Derby of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one stepbrother, Larry Spencer; and four stepsisters, Jessie Wade, April Smith, Ashley Derby and Emma Derby.

Mrs. Summers was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Derby.

Friends may call at Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Dale Hostuttler officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson-Bethel Cemetery near Littleton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tennant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1200, Hundred, WV 26575.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
