Bruce William Ramsey

Bruce William Ramsey, born July 18, 1958, from Sycamore Hollow, Worthington, passed away at his home.

Bruce was a beloved father and grandfather. He worked at Martinka Coal Mines, then ran his own Expert Tree Service.

In his past, Bruce raced motocross and boasted about having a faster laptime than “The Great Bob Hurricane Hannah!” Bruce then went on to build several nitro-burning hill climbing bikes and raced professionally. He was considered one of the best riders in the area by many.

Bruce was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved taking his grandkids hunting and fishing. He really enjoyed going and watching his grandkids’ baseball games. He will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his mother, Faye Ramsey; his three children, Chevy, Breck and Brodin Ramsey; two grandchildren, Leela and Grant Ramsey; his daughter-in-law, Eva Ramsey; his ex-wife and friend, Annette Ramsey; his siblings, Tracey, Kim, Leland and Robert Ramsey and Terry Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leland “Gig” “Pokey” Ramsey; his grandparents, Bruce and Dora Ramsey of Idamay; and his niece and nephew, April and Brandon Ramsey.

As per his wishes, there will be no viewing A private family burial will take place later on. On Saturday at 1 p.m., Bruce’s family and friends are welcomed to come celebrate his life at Sycamore Hollow.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
