Kenneth Eugene Decker, 43, of Fairmont, passed from this life Wednesday (March 19, 2014) at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
He was born Feb. 3, 1971, in Fairmont, son of Alice Kay Osborne Fletcher and the late Eugene “Bunny” L. Decker.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Beverly Kay Hayes Decker; his son, Kenneth Eugene Decker Jr. and fiancée Kerri Miller; his granddaughter and pride and joy of his life, Braeagh Alaine Decker; a sister, Victoria Decker and Bobby Nichols; seven sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by extended family, Earl, Charlie, Ralph and Dave Edwards.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by Melvin Hayes and Phil Edwards.
He worked at Nickles Bakery, loved riding his Harley-Davidson and hanging out at Burger King. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping at the Hickfest and Mannington Fair.
Kenneth was well loved by all and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont, from 2-8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 1 p.m. Sunday. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with Christopher Hillberry officiating. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery in Monongah.
