James Pearl

James Edward Pearl, 87, of Rivesville community, passed away Friday afternoon (April 18, 2014) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born Nov. 18, 1926, in Rivesville, son of the late William R. and Rose E. Santel Pearl.  

Jim attended Highlawns United Methodist Church in Rivesville. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the World War II. He retired in 1982 from Bethlehem Mine with 34 1/2 years of service as a mine inspector and company man. Jim was a member of Fairmont Lodge #9, A.F.&A.M., the Scottish Rite Bodies of Wheeling, and A.A.O.N.M.S. Osiris Temple of Wheeling. He also was a past member of the V.F.W. Post #629 in Fairmont.  

Survivors include his wife, Amy Davis Pearl of Rivesville (married 25 years); his daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Dr. P. Ronald Graziani of Fairmont; a grandchild, Briena Pearl Graziani of Shepherdstown; his stepchildren, Thomas and Linda Stewart of Bristal, Va.; Michael R. and Leita Stewart of Fairmont, John F. Stewart and his fiancé Chrystal of Rivesville, Sharon and Casey Stickley of White Hall, Carol and Monte Hilling of Rivesville, and Cindy and Thomas Annan of Fairmont; 12 stepgrandchildren; 21 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  

Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty J. Norris Pearl, who passed away in 1986; and his brothers, Carl W. Pearl and Russell A. Pearl.

Family and friends will be received at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Jasper Street, Rivesville, WV from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home this afternoon at 2 p.m. with Rev. Stanley Merrifield and Rev. Chris Hilling officiating. The Marion County Veterans Council will conduct flag folding services in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown. Fairmont Lodge #9, A.F. and A.M. will conduct ritual services at the graveside.  

The family requests that all memorial donations be made to the Union Mission, 107 Jefferson St., Fairmont, WV.
