Harold L. Morgan, 92, of Bidwell, Ohio, (formerly of Fairmont) passed away Thursday (March 24, 2011) at Abbyshire Place Nursing Home in Bidwell.
He was born in Grafton on April 2, 1918, son of the late Frank L. and Myrtle E. (Williams) Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Claudia (Cogar) Morgan, on April 10, 2007.
Mr. Morgan retired from the Southern Ohio Coal Co., Meigs Mine No. 1 in Ohio. Following his retirement, he became the neighborhood handyman. Family, friends and neighbors will remember Harold for his delightful personality and willingness to help others.
He is survived by his daughter, Myrtle (Morgan) Thomaschek of Bidwell, Ohio; two grandchildren, Robert Thomaschek and his wife Lisa of Stoughton, Wis., and William Thomaschek and his wife Sandy of Circleville, Ohio; and his great-grandson, William Robert Thomaschek.
In addition to his wife and parents, Harold was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jean Morgan; a granddaughter, Barbara Ruth Thomaschek; a brother, Edward E. Morgan; and a son-in-law, Robert Thomaschek.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Jim Zinn officiating. Arrangements are being conducted by Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home.
