Peggy Marie Martin, 86, of Fairmont, passed away Thursday (June 13, 2013) at her riverside camp in Fairmont.
She was born April 26, 1927, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Madeline Marie Ford and Ralph Franklin Hadox.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Lee Martin, whom she married July 13, 1947.
Mrs. Martin was a graduate of East Fairmont High School, as well as a 1947 graduate of the Fairmont General Hospital School of Nursing. She served locally as a military cadet during World War II.
Peggy was a member of Gateway United Methodist Church, formerly Christ United Methodist Church.
Peggy retired in 1996 from Dr. Roidad’s office, where she served as his registered nurse. She previously had worked with Dr. Magunia, Dr. Baron, as well as the Fairmont General pediatric department.
She enjoyed local mixed and women’s league bowling over the years, and was a member of the Womens’ Bowling Association. She was a member of the Mary Priscilla Women’s Circle at her church. She loved playing cards, ceramics, fishing trips to Canada, and her second home on the Tygart River. She loved the water and watching her children and grandchildren swim and ski. They were the highlight of her life.
Survivors include her daughter, Diana Kincell of Fairmont; grandchildren, Martin Kincell of Fairmont, and Paige and her husband Robert Murphy of Fairmont; great-grandchildren, Colby and Dylan Kincell, and Jared and Hannah Murphy; brother-in-law, David Lang of Nebraska; nieces, Cathy and her husband Michael Fleece of Fairmont, and Marcia K. and her husband Jay Schlegelmilch of Nebraska; nephews, Bobby and his wife Bonetta Hadox of Fairmont, and Mike and his wife Cheryl Lang of Nebraska; and special family friend, Doug Miller of Fairmont.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert, and his wife, Patty Hadox; and her sister Barbara Lang.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice Care Corp., the staff at Genesis Fairmont Campus Pierpont Center, and Dr. Peter Ang and his staff, for their loving care provided to Peggy.
Friends and family may call Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 2-8 p.m. today and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday. The funeral will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Jeff Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
