Betty Virginia Lamb, 84, of Mill Street, Fairmont, passed away Sunday evening (June 23, 2013) in Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born July 24, 1928, in Fairmont, daughter of the late Fred and Nellie McIntire Lamb.
Mrs. Lamb was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fairmont. She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and was an active member of the 1946 reunion committee.
She retired from Monongahela Power Co. with 49 years of service in the sales department. She was a member of the Monongahela Girl’s Club and she participated in Kilowatt Kids Bowling Team.
Betty was a member of the West Virginia Travelers Club and served as treasurer. She was an avid season ticket holder for West Virginia University football and basketball.
Survivors include two cousins, Marilyn McIntire and her husband Pete Burke of Brevard, N.C., and Lorene McIntire Clark of Paducah, Ky.; second cousins, Joyce Burke Cron and her husband Dan of Acton, Mass., Susan Burke Mullins and her husband Bob of Alpharetta, Ga., and Catherine Clark Harris and her husband Brent of Tampa, Fla.; an aunt, Louise McIntire Tune of Paducah, Ky.; and several younger cousins.
She was preceded in death by an uncle, Fred W. McIntire.
Family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. today at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Pastor Elise Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Fairmont, at a later date.
