Mary Rose Guidash, 91, a longstanding resident of Fairmont, passed away on Dec. 27, 2013, while staying with her daughter Anita Ash Wise, in West Palm Beach, Fla.
She was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Rivesville, a daughter of the late Sam and Antoinette Marra Faccillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Michael Guidash, on Dec. 27, 1983.
Mary was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fairmont and resided on East Side until her visit with her younger daughter Anita. Mary worked for many years as a sales clerk for Speedway Market.
Mary is survived by her two sisters, Angie Farrow of Murphy, N.C., and Frances Walker of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and her two daughters, Maxine L. and her husband John Carpenter of Lakeland, Fla., and Anita L. Wise of Royal Palm Beach, Fla. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and two stepchildren, James Patrick Guidash of Wilmington, Del., and Bonnie Jean Sheets of Irving, Texas.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Katie Ferris; a son-in-law, Ronald Wise; and a granddaughter, Tina Marie Wise.
Mary’s daughters wish to thank everyone who has assisted Mary in her later years. The family greatly appreciates the love and care expressed toward Mary.
Friends and family may visit Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, to visit with her family and remember Mary’s contribution to those in her life. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Sister Stella Cronauer, C.S.J., officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Fairmont.
