Emmett “Bud” Schmuck

Emmett Lewis “Bud” Schmuck passed away at home on Friday (April 18, 2014). He was born in Taylor County on Feb. 13, 1936, a son of the late Emmet Schmuck and Cora M. Squires Schmuck.

He was a graduate of East Fairmont High School, and attended Fairmont State University and West Virginia University. Bud was self-employed for 60 years as a masonry contractor beginning in 1954. He was one of the most talented mason workers in the Marion County area.

He was a Lutheran by faith. He enjoyed time spent with his family and most of all, his grandson, Ethan, whom he adored.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Nancy Hamrick Schmuck; his son, Eric Schmuck and his wife Deanna of Monroeville, Pa.; one brother, Ralph Dale “Jake” Schmuck and his wife Mary Sue of Fairmont; one sister, Sally Wilhelm and her husband James of White Hall; his grandson, Ethan Lewis Schmuck; one nephew, Tim Wilhelm and his wife Jesse of Nevada; one niece, JoAnna Davis and her husband Jeff of Kingmont; and two brothers-in-law, Dan Hamrick of North Carolina and Hank Plant of Oregon.

Friends may call at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home today from 1-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andrew Tennant officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
