Janet L. Yerace, 77, of Fairmont, passed away Friday (April 25, 2014) at her residence.
Janet was born Oct. 28, 1936, in Fairmont, daughter of the late William J. Phillips and Elizabeth Murphy Phillips.
Janet was a homemaker, formerly employed at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant and Marion County Central Communications as a part-time 911 operator. She was a member of North Central West Virginia Emmaus Community and a former member of the Marion County Rescue Squad. She had attended The Baptist Temple.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph N. Yerace Sr.; two children, Joseph Yerace Jr. and his wife Linda of Fairmont, and Beth Martin and her husband Jim of Fairmont; a brother, Jim Phillips and his wife Dorothy of Girard, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jeremy Martin and his wife Meghann, and Jared Martin and his fiancé Sara Friend; two step-grandchildren, Jason Wright and Kelli Bland; great-grandchildren, Ava Elaine Martin and Harper LeeAnne Martin, who is due in July.; and three step-great-grandchildren Christopher, Michael and Emily Bland.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Yost and Ruth Fisher.
Family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont, from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday and from 10-11 a.m. on Monday. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Holley B. Faulkner Jr. officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Azar for his continued love and compassion throughout her illness. They would also like to thank Bridget and Theresa of Amedisys Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
