JoAnn Amos, born in 1937, died Monday (May 5, 2014), at Fairmont General Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with COPD.
She was born in Buckhannon, the daughter of Elmer “Buck” and Edna Armstrong. She grew up and attended public school in Bridgeport. After graduation, she attended Fairmont State College, majoring in home economics.
While attending Fairmont State, she met and married Raymond Amos. Two sons were produced by this marriage, Bradley and Douglas.
JoAnn requested that her body be donated to the West Virginia University Gift Registry and also that no services or memorials be held.
