Ruth Stevens, 96, of Enterprise, passed away at 9:46 p.m. Monday (May 6, 2013) at the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehab Facility.
She was born in Fairmont on Aug. 12, 1916, a daughter of the late John L. and Pearl Ashcraft Vincent.
Her husband, Walter Hugh Stevens, preceded her in death May 16, 1989. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are one sister-in-law, Betty Vincent, Enterprise, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Woods and Iva Carpenter; and three brothers, Carl Vincent, Ensel Vincent and Garret Vincent.
Mrs. Stevens was a homemaker, a former member of the Enterprise Homemakers Club and a member of the Family Life Fellowship Church, Enterprise.
Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, Route 19 South, Shinnston, from 2-8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at noon Friday at Family Life Fellowship, Enterprise. Mrs. Stevens will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
