Tammy Jo Bledsoe, 51, of Elyria, Ohio, and formerly of Fairmont, passed away Monday (May 6, 2013) at her mother’s home in Ohio, surrounded by her loving family, following a long, courageous, five-year battle with brain cancer.
She was born in Fairmont on Feb. 28, 1962, a daughter of Tom Knisley of Fairmont and Helen Stottlemire and her husband Charlie of Ohio.
Tammy made her career with McDonald’s Corp. working as a business consultant for more than 20 years. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and spending time with them.
In addition to her mother and father, she is survived by her son, James Brandon Bledsoe and his wife Jennifer of Fairmont; and two grandchildren, Ella Bledsoe and Brody Bledsoe.
Also surviving are sisters, Carol Smith and her husband Randy, Kimmie Knisley and her fiancé Robert Lampi, and Patricia Haught and her husband Ernie, all of Ohio, Rebecca Kentigo and her husband Anthony of Kentucky, and Tina Huey, and Shelby Kuhn and her husband Jamie, all of Fairmont; one brother, Robert Stottlemire of Ohio; and 21 special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Debra Hawkins.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 1-8 p.m. Friday and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Seth Broadhurst and Pastor Isaac Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Fairmont.
