— Jack Alton Luton, 83, of Fairview, passed away Thursday (May 9, 2013) at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Medical Center.

He was born June 8, 1929, in Fairview, son of the late Harry Lawrence and Dessie (Tennant) Luton.

Jack was retired from Galis and FMC Corp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Noah’s Ark Assembly of God in Fairview. He enjoyed golfing, mowing grass and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lorena Mae Shears Luton; children, Jack Michael Luton and wife Tara of Florida; grandson, Christopher Luton and companion Sarah Leinier; great-grandson, Drake Wolfe; granddaughter, Jacklyn Clark and her husband William; grandson, Nathan Luton; Loyd Eugene Luton and wife Gail of Louisiana and her son Jack; grandson, Steven Luton; grandson, Scott Luton and Brittney Randall; great-grandsons, Bryce and Skylar; David Leroy Luton and wife Debbie of Pumpkin Center; granddaughter, Shelly Composky and her husband Michael; great-grandchildren, Austin and Dylan Composky; granddaughter, Jessica Broll, her husband David and great-grandson Trey; Terri Linn Luton of Fairview; granddaughter Amber Ice and her husband Richard; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Jack, Judah and Anna; grandson. Jacob Harris and great-granddaughter Aydrean and her mother, Stephanie Scritchfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Vaughn, Stewart and Delmar; sisters, Vera, Mary, Alberta and Elouise; and one grandchild at infancy and one grandchild before birth (both children of his daughter, Terri).

Friends and family may call at Noah’s Ark Assembly of God Church, Route 218, Fairview, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the church with Pastor Delas Stuzen officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover with full military rites being performed at graveside by the Westover VFW.
