Margaret Louise Cowger, 87, of Memphis, Tenn., and formerly of Alta Vista Avenue, Fairmont, died Monday (May 20, 2013) at her residence.
She was born July 30, 1925, in Marion County, the daughter of the late Raymond Arbogast and Ruby Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Leon Cowger, who died Feb. 3, 1992.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Ken Ware of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Scott Ware and his wife Emily of San Jose, Calif., and Kristy Styers and her husband Troy of Millington, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Ware, Caroline Ware, Hannah Styers and Abigail Styers; a son-in-law, Roger McCune of Parkersburg; and a brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Sandy Cowger of Chesapeake, Va.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn McCune, and a grandson, Andrew McCune.
Mrs. Cowger was a homemaker and was previously an active member of Diamond Street United Methodist Church in Fairmont. Margaret was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Association and recently attended Kirby Woods Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Troy Styers officiating. A private committal service will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum.
