August and Eleanor Palmer-Bowyer

August Emory Palmer-Bowyer and Eleanor Elise Palmer-Bowyer, infant son and daughter of Erica Palmer and Craig Bowyer, spent too few precious moments in this world on the evening of July 6, 2013.

Gus peacefully shared his presence with us from 8:17-11:15 p.m. on July 6, 2013, and Ellie’s light shined from 10:04 p.m. on July 6, 2013 to 1:15 a.m. on July 7, 2013. They were beautiful and strong. Their ephemeral lives leave an indelible imprint on all that were touched by their passing.

The joy of watching them grow up will be missed by their parents; their grandparents, Terry and Sandi Palmer; siblings, Maggie and Andrew Bowyer; Uncle Mitchell and Aunt Teresa Bowyer; Uncle Bret Palmer; several cousins; and too many other friends, family and chosen family to count. Had they still been with us, their grandparents, Bob and Vena Bower, would have loved them dearly as well.

A memorial service will held on July 21, 2013, at 2 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greensboro (5603 Hilltop Road, Jamestown, N.C.). Following a graveside service on Aug. 17, 2013, at 2 p.m., their ashes will be interred in a family plot with their aunt, Melissa Palmer, at Shinnston Masonic Cemetery in Shinnston.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
