Paula Renee’ (Gum) Schleicher, 51, of Fairmont, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday (July 15, 2013) surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Fairmont on Nov. 19, 1961, a daughter of the late Musetta Yvonne (White) Gum and Ernest Paul Gum.
She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School in 1980. She was a member of Faith International Church. Paula enjoyed crocheting, her pond and garden, and spending time with her family, especially her grandson.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert “Bill” Schleicher of Fairmont; and her daughter, Kayla Schleicher and her fiancé Greg Price, and her very special grandson, Marquis, all of Fairmont.
Also surviving are her brothers and sisters: her brothers and spouses, Bill Adams of Pennsylvania, Ron and Debbie Cumpston of Morgantown, Tim Cumpston and Lisa Carpenter of Fairmont, and Tom Gum of Virginia Beach, Va.; her sisters and spouses, Pamela and David Hillberry of Fairmont, Paulette Boggs and Pete Vincent of Fairmont, and Annette and Donnie Bradley of Fairmont; as well as several caring nieces, nephews and great-nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Adams, Dave Gum and David Cumpston; a nephew, Bobby Joe Musgrove; and her mother-in-law, Joyce Schleicher.
Friends may call at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Ken Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery.
