Lucy (Fraternali) DiVirgilio, 95, of Fairmont, was called home on Thursday (July 25, 2013). She was born May 17, 1918, to Brando and Palma (D’orazio) Fraternali.
She made her home with her daughter Carol Colasessano and her husband Joe. The light of her life were her granddaughters, Victoria Jeanne and Rachel Marie, and their boyfriends, Justin Hershman and Bradley Dodrill. Lucy enjoyed her many nieces and nephews.
She will always be remembered for her delicious pizzelles and meatballs. She loved passing on these recipes and traditions to her family.
Lucy is also survived by one sister, Ida Stockmeyer of Caseville, Mich.; numerous nieces and nephews all who hold a special place in her heart; and also special friends, Josephine Colasessano, Donna and David Wells and their family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by “the love of her life,” her husband of 31 years, Eugenio A. DiVirgilio, and an infant daughter, Pamela Joanne. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Camille Carovillano, Susie Julian, Della Cosco, David Fraternali, Felix Fraternali, Teresa Oliveto and Pauline Cianfrocca.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brenda Glover for the loving care she gave to Lucy over the past few months.
Friends and family may call at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont, from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Walter M. Jagela as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
