Sharon J. “Sherry” Barron, 77, of Idamay and formerly of Mannington, passed away peacefully from the Earth on Friday (July 19, 2013) at Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born April 25, 1936, at home in Mannington to the late Mason Hubert and Ruth Wanda Straight Henline.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Ray Barron Sr. of Idamay; a daughter, Debbie Franks and husband Marvin of Cedar Keys, Fla.; and two sons, Mark Barron and wife Velma and Edward Ray Barron Jr. and wife Vicky, all of Idamay. Also surviving are two sisters, Jackie Mullenax and husband Dan of Mannington, and Sandra Kesling and husband Dale of Stonewood; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Henline; and a sister, Janice Dixon.
Sharon was a homemaker who enjoyed playing cards, doing word searches and spending time with her family. She was a member of First Christian Church of Mannington and a member of the Women of the Moose for several years. She was a wonderful cook and was well known by many for her potato salad and salmon cakes.
Friends may call at Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington from 2-9 p.m. Monday, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. Serving as eulogist will be Todd Mullenax, nephew of the deceased. Interment will be in Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
