Betty Lee Smith-Potts, 49, of Fairmont Road, Rivesville, passed away Thursday evening (July 18, 2013) in Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born Sept. 9, 1963, in Fairmont, daughter of Carolyn “Karus” Smith of Rivesville and the late Chester Earl Smith.
Betty was a member of Zoar House of Prayer in Monongalia County. She presently was employed as a data processor with Farmers Mutual Insurance in Fairmont with 15 years of service.
She was truly an animal lover. She enjoyed riding her horses and cattle pinning.
Additional survivors include a half-brother, Charles “Chuckie” Smith of Rivesville; a close friend, Donny Eddy of Rivesville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Betty has chosen cremation services. Her family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. this afternoon at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Jasper Street, Rivesville. A memorial service will follow today at 2 p.m. with Pastor Barbara Hamrick officiating. The family would like to show their appreciation to her friends and neighbors for their care and concern.
The family also requests that memorial donations be made to the Marion County Humane Society, Route 19 south, Box 31A, Fairmont, WV 26554.
