Anthony Shurot

Anthony Shurot, 57, of Shinnston, passed away Friday (July 4, 2014) in Fairmont.

He was born Dec. 21, 1956, in Royal Oaks, Michigan, a son of the late Sam and Camilla “Rotondo” Shurot.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara Price Shurot.

Mr. Shurot was raised and reconfirmed Catholic. He was an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed hockey. Anthony was a gentle man. He was deeply patriotic and proud to be an American. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Adam and his wife Leah Shurot of Michigan; a grandson, Liam Shurot; a stepdaughter, Trena Moats of Keyser; stepgrandchildren, Amanda, Ruthie and Brandon Bowman of Keyser; stepgreat-grandchild, Dakota Bowman of Keyser; brother, Sammy Shurot of Arizona; sister, Donna Shurot of Arizona; nephew, Lenny Kudlowski of Arizona; and uncle, Mario Rotondo of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his niece, Kristie Kudlowski.

Friends and family may visit at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, at 2 p.m. Monday for a memorial service with the Rev. William A. Anderson presiding. His cremains will be interred at a later date at Mount Zion Cemetery in Fairmont.

Sam was born on Nov. 13, 1920, in Fairmont, the son of the late Vincent and Maria (Galiano) Pellerite. He was the loving husband of the late Teresa Mae “Terry” (Cirillo) Pellerite.

Mrs. Ball was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Clark Ball, whom she married on Feb. 2, 1947.

    Carmela retired from Westinghouse and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, also the Sharing and Caring group.
