James Campbell

James Arthur Campbell, 57, of Fairmont, passed from this life Friday (March 22, 2013, at the Arbors at Fairmont Nursing Home from complications with his heart.

He was born in Akron, Ohio, on Oct. 16, 1955, a son of the late James and Opal Starcher Campbell.

Jimmy traveled rather extensively over the years and while in Colorado served as a computer technician for more than 15 years. He enjoyed the Internet media and fishing. He was fairly well known and was a very caring and giving man. He would do what he could to help anyone that asked.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, including Sue and Joe Saporito, Darlina Truman, Billy and Archie Westfall, all of Fairmont, David and Sharon Truman of Morgantown and Mary Jo Leasure of Mannington.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Homer Campbell, and his sister, Mary Ellen Campbell. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Mr. Campbell chose cremation as his method of disposition. There will not be any service here. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Akron.

The Frey Home for Funerals was happy to assist with his final wishes.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
