Kathy Floyd

Kathy Ellen Floyd, 65, of Fairmont, passed from this life to meet her heavenly father Tuesday (April 30, 2013) under the care of Hospice and her loving family.

Kathy was born March 13, 1948, to the late William and Elsie Shaver Floyd.

She was a 1967 graduate of Barrackville High School. She later became a caregiver and retired in October 2012. She was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church. She loved to antique shop and go out to eat with her fiancé, Rick Harter.

Kathy is survived by one brother and his wife, Mike and Debby Floyd of Barrackville; two nephews, Jay Floyd and wife Shawna, and Lucas Floyd; one niece, Lindsey Floyd; four great-nephews and two-great nieces whom she adored; two aunts; several cousins; and her fiancé, Rick Harter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and one brother, Thomas Floyd.

Please come and join the family for a celebration of Kathy’s life at Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington from 3-7 p.m. Saturday. At the request of the deceased, she has chosen cremation.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
