— Diana Jean VanPelt, 68, of Fairmont, passed from this life Monday (May 6, 2013) in her home under Hospice care.

She was born in Pittsburgh on April 13, 1945, a daughter of the late Henry A. and Mildred E. Eber Meyer.

Diana was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and was formerly the treasurer for the Polar Bear Band Boosters. She enjoyed doing cross stitch, working puzzles and watching game shows.

 Mrs. VanPelt is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, William E. VanPelt; her son, William E. VanPelt II of Parkersburg; her daughter, Victoria J. VanPelt of Fairmont; three brothers, Richard Meyer, Kenneth and Jennifer Meyer, and Gary and Karen Meyer, all of Pittsburgh; and also her sister, Carol Diemert and William of Irwin, Pa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sandra Meyer.

Friends may call at the Frey Home for Funerals (Historic Chapel), 320 Madison St., Fairmont, from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the Grace Lutheran Church (3rd Street and Gaston Avenue) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. Her funeral service will be held in the church Friday at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Matt Holbert officiating. Interment will follow at the Rockland Cemetery in Belpre, Ohio.
