Doris Mary (Norman) Reeves, of Bunner Ridge Community, Fairmont, passed away Thursday (March 7, 2013) at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Long Harbour, Newfoundland, Canada, on March 18, 1942, a daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Griffiths) Norman.
Doris worked at Electronic Control Systems in Fairmont as a group leader and at FCX Systems in Morgantown as a PC assembler. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, gardening and spending time with her loving granddaughter and family. She loved all animals, especially birds.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Ned Reeves of Fairmont; one son, Rodney Norman Reeves of Fairmont; two stepsons, Richard K. Reeves and his wife Karla of Parkersburg, and Marvin Scot Reeves of Fairmont; and one granddaughter, Railey Paige Reeves.
Also surviving are four brothers, Andrew Norman and his wife Lucy, Adrian Norman and his wife Aggie, all of Long Harbour, Newfoundland, Canada, Frank Norman of Glen Haven, Nova Scotia, Canada, and Terry Norman and his wife Bonnie of Ottawa, Ont., Canada; and two sisters, Germaine Conway of Conception Harbor, Newfoundland, Canada, and Lucy Downey of Great Codroy, Newfoundland, Canada.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas Norman, Joseph Norman, David Norman and Eugene Norman; two sisters, Marie Davis and Rita Norman; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Norman.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday and from noon-1 p.m. Sunday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Sunday, with Pastor Harley Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Fairmont.
