Clora Kniceley, 94, of Catawba Community, Fairmont, passed away Friday (Nov. 29, 2013) at Fairmont General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Hyer, on Dec. 18, 1918, a daughter of the late Lester and Myrtle Eliza (Hyer) Kniceley.
Clora was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her earlier years she worked as a housekeeper and caregiver.
She is survived by two sons, Glenn Kniceley and his companion Paula Williams of Fairmont, and Mark Kniceley and his wife Barbara of Fairmont; one daughter, Sue Griffin and her husband Robert of Augusta, Ga.; eight grandchildren, William Kniceley and his wife Stacy, Kristopher Nicholas Kniceley, Bethany Michele Kniceley, Jana Alysa Kniceley, Glenn Edwin Kniceley and his wife Sherry, Gary Wayne Kniceley and his wife Deanna, Terri Ann Williams Sivak and her husband Nick, and Kaylee Ann Kniceley, who was very special to Clora; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Gary W. Kniceley, William “Bill” Kniceley and Donald Kniceley; one brother, Bernard Kniceley; and a sister-in-law, Pearl Kniceley.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, today from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rex Musgrove officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery in Monongalia County.
