Kenneth“Kenny” Dotson

Kenneth Michael “Kenny” Dotson, 27, of Lumberport, passed away on Tuesday (Feb. 13, 2007) at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Kenny was born in Bellaire, Ohio, the son of Richard (Kevin) Dotson and Jennifer (Russell) Dotson of Lumberport.

In addition to his parents, Kenny is survived by his wife, Rachel (Moore) Dotson, whom he married on Oct. 7, 2006; his sister, Jessica (Dotson) Earnest and her husband, Eric Earnest of Quiet Dell; his grandmother, Florence Dotson; his nephew, Caleb Chase Troter; his mother and father-in-law, Michelle & Rickie Carothers of Lumberport; and Bill and Dawn Trickett of Washington, Pa.; his sisters-in-law, Broughen Trickett and Victoria Jones and her husband Andrew Jones of Lumberport; brothers-in law, Alec Trickett and Andrew Jones of Lumberport; his grandparents, Ronnie and Marian Moore of Worthington, Jerry and Ruth Harris of Lumberport; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

Kenny was preceded in death by, his grandfather, Kenneth G. Dotson of Wallace; and his maternal grandparents, Virgil C. Russell and Rose Ellen Russell of Ambridge, Pa.

Kenny was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the Class of 1998, and was employed with Consol Co., Loveridge Mine in 2006 and with Fair Fiax Fuel, Goodwill Industries, and Yardman lawncare during the years 2002 through 2005. 

Kenny was a proud member of the Shinnston Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was an avid hunter and sportsman. He loved the outdoors and his truck, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Kenny was a jokester and never knew a stranger. “Git-R-Done.”

Family and friends will be received at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, today from 2-9 p.m. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Dorsey Funeral Home with Ministers Mike Foresha and Jeff Tucker officiating.
