Debra Burnside, 61, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday (Oct. 30, 2012) at her home.
She was born in Fairmont on Nov. 4, 1950, a daughter of the late David and Maxine (DeMoss) Harris.
Debra worked as a secretary at WVU for 10 years and also at the Department of Energy and as an LPN at WVU Medical Center. She was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. She was a member of Morgantown Church of Christ, past president of Bunner Ridge Riding Club and secretary of Three Rivers Area Search and Rescue. She enjoyed riding horses.
She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Fred Burnside of Morgantown; one son, David Joseph Revay and his wife Leah of Albuquerque, N.M.; three stepsons, James Allen Burnside of Fairmont, John Edward Burnside and his wife Shanan of Leesburg, Va., and Michael Stephen Burnside and his wife Angela of Fairmont; one grandchild, Jari Revay; and five step-grandchildren, Erin Burnside, Abby Burnside, Haidyn Burnside, Kiersten Lopez and Kylea Lopez.
Also surviving is a brother, Douglas Harris and his wife Ava of Mebane, N.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister in infancy.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with Evangelist Yale Canfield officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery in Monongalia County.
