— Maxine Elizabeth Plyman, 81, of Fairmont, died Tuesday evening (Oct. 9, 2012) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after a sudden illness.

She was born in Farmington on Nov. 9, 1930, daughter of the late Dayton Long and Blanch Elizabeth Diehl Buchanan.

She worked as a cook and retired from Terranova’s Restaurant at the Middletown Mall and formerly worked at Brooks Grill in Fairmont. She was Methodist by faith.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Savonarola; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Josie Plyman all of Fairmont; and four grandchildren, Michael Savonarola, Mareca Savonarola, Jessica (Brian) Gatto and Roger (Karrie) Plyman, all of Fairmont. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Seth Tony, Porsche Fielder-Plyman, Mackenzie Plyman and John Paul Plyman; and several nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Fred Conaway of Fairmont; and one sister-in-law, Ethel (Harold) Shriver of Grafton.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell L. Plyman Jr. in May 1995; one brother, Robert (Marion) Buchanan; and three sisters, Virginia (Verlin) Tinder, Betty (Sherman) Perkins and Leona Conaway.

Friends may call at Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont ,from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. John Abersold officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
