Dawn Belcastro

Dawn Joyce Belcastro, 86, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday (Oct. 3, 2013) at St. Barbara’s Nursing Home in Monongah.

She was born on April 18, 1927, in Fairmont, the daughter of the late Bernard Jennings and Grace Freeman Brannon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Belcastro.

Mrs. Belcastro attended East Fairmont High School. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Fairmont. Dawn was a full-time homemaker, dedicated wife, mother and Nonnie.

Mrs. Belcastro is survived by her daughter, Brenda Sue Domico; her grandson, Joseph Richard Domico Jr.; and her great-grandchild, Chloe Domico, all of Pittsburgh, Pa.; as well as her sister Patty Hoffman of Morgantown.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Jack and Albert Brannon; and her sister, Dorothy Hunter.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Barbara's Memorial Nursing Home, Monongah, WV 26554.

Friends and family may call at the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday with Father Walter M. Jagela officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
