Pete Kaznoski

Pete Joseph Kaznoski, 73, of Barrackville, passed away Saturday (Oct. 5, 2013) at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 27, 1939, a son of the late Pete J. Kaznoski and Sara Lee Wilson Kaznoski. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Earleen Kaznoski.

Pete retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service as a technical sergeant. He also worked for 10 years as a driver for the Marion County Transit Authority and in security for the Marion County Parks and Recreations Department. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, and was an avid Pinochle player.

Mr. Kaznoski is survived by his wife of 54 years, Earleen Kaznoski; four children, Crystal Feltz and her husband Jim of Barrackville, Pete Joseph Kaznoski III and his wife Heather of Marblehead, Mass., Wendy Morris and her husband Deen of Fairmont, and Laura Kaznoski of Whiteville, N.C.; a brother, John “Bugs” Duane Kaznoski and his wife Gloria of Ocala, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Natalie Watson and her husband Randy of Mannington, Kendra Feltz of Barrackville, Samantha Feltz of Fairmont, Angela Feltz of Barrackville, Jamie Feltz of Barrackville, Wilson Kaznoski of Marblehead, Mass., Lauren Kaznoski and her husband Joseph Huffman of Fairmont, Marshall Morris of Fairmont, Michael Sellers of Whiteville, N.C., and Joshua Sellers of Whiteville, N.C.; and three great-grandchildren, Bella Haught, L.J. Huffman and Pierson Davis.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Pete J. Kaznoski and Sara Lee Wilson Kaznoski.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 5-8 p.m. today and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday. A eulogy will take place in the funeral home at 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
