Richard Dale Dick, 84, of White Hall, passed away Thursday (Oct. 17, 2013) in his home.
He was born March 18, 1929, in Morgantown, son of the late Carl and Helen Louise (Mindey) Dick.
Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy with a total of 27 years of service. He was stationed in Korea for three years and had six tours in Vietnam where he was stationed on a swift boat. He was formerly employed by the Times West Virginian and Domico Funeral Home.
He is survived by two children, Fred Barker Hamilton and wife Kathie of North Waterboro, Maine, and Michelle Jean Tomas of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; grandchildren, Benjamin Barker and wife Crystal, Edward Scott and wife Cheryl, Anthony Frederick, Heather Eugenia, Jessica Mauricsia and Marleto Luis Jr.; great-grandchildren, Johanna Mae Hamilton, Korbyn Blue Hamilton, Abigayle Jayme, Anthony Frederick Jr., Alani Joy, Kasia Namakaokalani, Kawika Sonny Branden Ikaika, Judah Hanaumaike’ anoOka’aina Botelho and Zaeden Kalamaoka’ikena; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, James and Elma Bailis of Canton, Ohio; and a sister, Nancy.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Eugenia (Berdine) Dick, who passed away in July of 2013; and two brothers, Carl Dick Jr. and Robert Wayne Jr.
Richard chose cremation as his final disposition. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont, is in charge of the arrangements.
