Paul Vincent

Paul E. Vincent, 90, of Reynoldsville, passed away suddenly on Friday (Oct. 18, 2013) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born Oct. 4, 1923, in Clarksburg, a son to the late Robert R. Vincent and Bessie (Monroe) Vincent.

He is survived by his son, John Paul “Skip” Vincent and his wife Fae of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Tami Rodriguez, Amber Fancher, Jennifer Donati and Eric Vincent; a sister, Violet V. Bunner of Parkersburg; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Schmidt of Clarksburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Vincent; half brother, Lowell Vincent; and three sisters, Elva Koch, Mary Louis Mckinnon and Olenta Black.

Mr. Vincent was a army veteran and served during WWII. Paul retired from Union Carbide in Clarksburg. He was a great story teller and loved pictures of his family, friends and airplanes. Paul’s favorite companion was his little dog, Brownie.

Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg, today from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ray Crabtree presiding. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
